Raine Whispers is a tragic after-thought
HOLD UP! Before you attack me for criticizing the bard, the title says "tragic" for a reason which I want to explain. After reading Swordsling's list at AO3 of why the Disney executive meddling cutting The Owl House short, I've got some things to add and point out as well. Here's the link if you want to check it out: https://archiveofourown.org/works/49470649 First of all, the guy is right when I have to try to think back on Raine's character and realize that while cool and powerful... we also have to accept that everything the witch who got to be a coven head does leads to failure. Swordsling goes into more detail, but I want to point out why some fanfics I've read here come short with using the character. Raine is not really thought of as a part of the main cast in most stories I've read involving the bard, and while everyone loves the Raine/Eda ship, it feels like most people use the witch as the love interest rather than a character. Like we accept and enjoy that Eda has love

Lumity Exchange AU Short 1 - Lilimora
“Kiki…” Emperor Belos’ right-hand woman and Coven leader said to her complicated-love partner. “Lilith…” the emperor’s assistant and pretty much the manager of the castle replied curtly with an almost invisible tilt of her head, narrowing her only visible eye at the woman towering over her. Both stood in the middle of the halls outside the throne room, having left after yet another talk to their leader about the raven-haired witch’s activities. Failing to capture Eda wasn’t bothering such a figure, yet. However, the riots at the prison caused by the elusive woman and the emperor’s plan were another story. Fortunately for the long-haired woman, the man had patience and kept a rather admirable and even enviable collected front. Unfortunately for her and the red-skinned witch right by her side, patience was a finite virtue regardless of who used it. “Out with it, Kikimora,” Lilith growled, done with all pretenses as they rounded a corner with every guard bowing and/or giving them ample

Lilith sighed as she made her way to Emperor Belos’ throne room. On her way in the large halls of the monument he built as a testament to his power and the progress of the Boiling Isles, she was a feared and respected witch. Men and women of all shapes and sizes made way for her, saluted the long-haired woman or informed her about their findings, captures and accomplishments. With just a wave of her hand, the soldiers would leave her alone or accept any request. However, there is an exception to everything. She was second fiddle to Emperor Belos, but she still answered to others. “It appears your latest confrontation with the Owl Lady wasn’t fruitful,” said the woman she had to report to on a daily basis. “In fact, the list of her crimes has increased once more.” Lilith tilted her head down to look at a woman the size of a small child with red skin. Her hands and feet resembled bird talons with black claws. Instead of hair, a large dark turquoise hand covered her head with light

Night at the Boiling Isles was quite beautiful, Amity remarked inwardly as she looked at the stars. A part of her appreciated everything, but had trouble believing everything was real. After all, she was flying along a criminal witch on her magic staff accompanied by a tiny skull-wearing wolf cub demon and a cheerful Spanish-speaking witch girl. She had caused a prison riot, fought guards using every little thing she knew about fencing, and was about to crash. However, nonthing prepared her for the place in front of her. She admired the forest, but... “Welcome to the Owl House!” Luz’s joyous voice passed by like background noise for Amity as the human girl stared at the large house with a stained-glass window designed like an owl’s eye. It was hidden in the woods near a beach, and was quite large with two stories, an attic and plenty of space as well as large windows. “Is this where you live?” Amity questioned Eda. “How that sister of yours doesn’t find you is one big mystery. She’d

17-year-old Amity Blight looked at herself in the mirror and the mistake she had made. Oh, how much she wished to go back in time, kick her younger self and tell her what a miserable experience would await her for not reading the fine print on a bottle. Her once brown hair resembling autumn leaves was a shade of green which she couldn't get rid of. It was all to go to a simple convention dressed as her idol and have some actual fun. It was why she was summoned to her father's studio, a library in the luxurious Blight mansion. Unfortunately, her parents and the word fun didn't mix. Strict since her birth, they always made sure to turn her into a perfect girl worthy of their name and everything that came with it. The girl had the best teachers, tutors, schools and extracurricular activities to make sure she would join the best college, but that was all dashed away by a single mistake. Instead of a dye which would wash off after a quick shower, she had accidentally bought and used a far

All around the skies, darkness enveloped every square inch of land. The grass turned into dust, once rich and moist soil dried up and cracked, and the stars in the sky blinked out of existence.
One could only look up and gasp in horror.
Villains and heroes alike could see the being before them and recognized it as what it was.
Death itself had come to claim them.
"W-What's this being?!" Ganondorf himself asked, staring in true fear at the entity before him.
A large shadow, its body resembling a cloak made of a darkness that eclipsed the void of space.
